Frequently requested documents for notarization and authentication
Documents are notarized by our certified Notary Public, providing the first level of authentication for international use.
For some countries, documents require verification by the Ministry of Justice to confirm the notary's authority.
Documents are submitted to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for additional authentication for non-Hague Convention countries.
For some countries, final authentication is required at the destination country's embassy or consulate in Uganda.
For Hague Convention countries, documents receive an Apostille certificate instead of steps 2-4.
Uganda is a member of the Hague Convention Abolishing the Requirement of Legalization for Foreign Public Documents. Documents destined for other member countries require only notarization and Apostille certification, simplifying the legalization process.
